Sitting Up

Another major milestone that Elijah has reached is that he is now sitting up! He is still pretty unstable and can sit by himself for just a few seconds before flopping over, but he is sitting, by golly, and getting better every day. He sat for the first time while we were at the beach, but this was for about half a second. :) Since we have gotten home, we have practiced sitting more and he is starting to get the hang of it. He also likes to rock back and forth, however, and if he is sitting by himself and pushes off hard to rock, this usually results in him tumbling over. Here are some sitting pictures from yesterday afternoon and this morning.

Above: We had just gotten back from a playdate in which Eli had skipped his afternoon nap. He took about a 30 minute nap in the car on the way home. I tried lay him down to keep sleeping once we got back, but he would have none of it. You will see in the next few pictures he is indeed quite the sleepy boy...

Above: Look at that lip! This is Elijah's super sad face. Whenever he does it it makes us laugh...does that make us bad parents? Even when he is giving us the lip, we think he is just the cutest thing ever.
