Carnival at St. Anne's

This past weekend, our family got to share in another first together...we took Elijah to his very first carnival!  While Ethan may not natually be the most drawn to carnivals, he was a good sport and agreed to the happy outing.  It was an absolutely gorgeous day and a fun way to get to enjoy the day together!

Before heading to the carnival, we stopped by Bigby's for a coffee.  Eli enjoyed playing with all of the toys, as usual, and is especially getting into blocks.  He loves to stack them as high as he can and build a tower.

When we pulled up, Eli said, "I want to ride that!  I want to ride the ferris wheel!"  Hmm, maybe next year, little one.

After buying non exchangeable, non refundable tickets for rides, we soon realized that our little one was not quite tall enough to ride any of the rides...bummer!  Thankfully, we were able to sell ours to someone just about to buy tickets (which the workers told us to do) and bought some food/kiddie game tickets instead.

While we weren't brave enough to hold a snake or a spikey lizard, we made fast friends with the ferret.

The little kiddie game area was a major hit with Eli.  The games were right up his alley and he won a prize every time.

Top off the day with a corn dog and I'd say it was about the perfect first carnival experience!

 My Collage Attempts

I found a new program that makes really cute collages.  I cannot figure out how to post them bigger, however, so I know this is pretty small.  It seems there is plenty of room, but when I choose the large size it cuts off half of the picture.  Oh well, maybe I'll figure it out soon.  Nonetheless, here are a few of my recent collage projects.

Fun with Eva and Josh

Over the past 2 days, we have had the chance to share some fun new adventures with our friends Eva (my mommy friend) and Josh (Eli's friend).  We have been to the fire station, to a butterfly festival, to a fun new playground, and to chick-fil-a for lunch and an ice cream cone!  Here are some pictures of our fun times below.  We love having such great friends to explore with...thank for all of the fun times Eva and Josh!!

Fire Station

All ready to go to the fire station.  While he is not exactly showing his excitement in this picture, Eli was super super excited about going!  He wore his fire truck shirt and would not think of going without his fireman boots. :)  He brought his fireman jacket too, but thankfully since it was over 100 degrees he agreed to let me carry the jacket.

Eli's favorite question while there (and all the time really) was "What's that?"

The wheel was taller than Eli :)

The boys loved playing with the horn (although they didn't actually beep the horn or it would have been LOUD).
The boys had a great time at the station!  The firemen were so nice to show the kids around and were so gracious to visit with us and let the boys play for about an hour.  They got to "drive" the truck, turn on the lights, check out all of the hoses and parts of the firetruck, look at the ambulance, and even got stickers and coloring books from the firemen!  It was a fun time and we will definitely go back to visit again.  I am thankful that we have great people protecting our city who are also so sweet to love on our kids!

Later in the day after watering my plants, Eli decided to water himself as well!  A good way to cool off with the warmer temps.

Sooo much fun!

Butterfly Festival

Photobucket
Today we met up with Eva and Josh again and went to a butterfly festival in Southlake.  It was really neat!  The gave us these sticks with watermelon clipped to it to attract the butterflies.  It was fun "fishing" for butterflies!

After the butterflies, the boys (and especially the moms) were ready for a little AC.  We went to Gateway Church and played at their indoor play area which was a lot of fun.  The boys climbed and ran around to their hearts delight.  Here they are riding the fire truck ride together, reminiscing about their trip to the fire station the day before.

After all that playing, a boy can work up a good appetite!  We got free lunch coupons from the butterfly festival, so we went and redeemed our coupons.  Lunch was even topped off by a delicious ice cream cone!  What a great day!

Boots!

Photobucket
While these next two pics have nothing to do with the post, I thought I'd just attach them here.  I bought Eli these cute little Woody boots (from Toy Story).  The are slippers and I think they are just adorable.  I love the shirt, diaper, boots look!
