Last weekend, we took our first trip down to San Antonio with Elijah. The trip was great and we had such a fun time. Michael and Jenny just moved into a new house, so we went by on Saturday morning to see their new place and it is beautiful! We spent some time playing in the nursery that they are setting up for their newest little one who is due to arrive in February. Dylan and Katelyn, Eli's older cousins, were quite the entertainers and showed Elijah all kinds of new toys and tricks. Unfortunately I think we made a mess of their tidy nursery. :) Here are some fun pics of Elijah enjoying the time with his cousins...makes me wish we lived closer!!!
Above: As soon as we got there, the kids were so excited to play with "Baby Elijah." Here Katlyn is showing her younger cousin how to read the cloth book.
Above: Eli is just loving all of the attention!
Above: What great big brothers and sisters they are going to be for their own little brother who is on the way!
Above: This one is SO precious. Dylan was holding the up mobile for Elijah...what a sweet boy!
Above: "Are you seeing this, Mommy, this is awesome!"
Above: Kately made cards for me, Ethan, and Elijah! Two guesses what Elijah is about to do with his card...
Above: Sweet Katelyn!
Above: Elijah was a little more interested in the card than the horse at this point. :)
Above: "Now who exactly are you again?"
Above: Katelyn is going to be a great big sister. She was all about taking care of and nurturing Elijah. She brought Elijah her special blanket to play with while he sat in the rocking chair.
Above: Not surprising to the rest of us, Elijah stuck the blanket in his mouth and got it all slobbery. I guess this series of events was not something that Katelyn predicted because she was quite shocked to discover her special blanket was "all wet!"
Above: ...and very unhappy about it! Here Katelyn is pouting because she doesn't want her blanket to be all wet and Elijah is trying to figure out what in the world is going on. :)
Above: After about 2 seconds, Katelyn forgave Elijah and got back to playing with and entertaining her baby cousin. Aunt Jenny, in all her wisdom, explained to Katelyn that "that is just what babies do." They slobber on stuff and put it in their mouth. Elijah seems to think this is funny. :)
Above: Aunt Jenny and Elijah...too cute!
*One more cute story about Dylan~ When we were hanging out with everyone on Saturday night, Katelyn wanted to hold "Baby Elijah" (as they call him). She was being so sweet holding him on the couch, and we kept talking about things related to "Baby Elijah." Dylan begins talking and tells us that when he gets older, we may want to change his name. We don't quite know what he means by this or where this is going, so we curiously listen for him to explain more. He proceeds to tell us that as kids get older, they don't really like to be called "baby," so maybe we should change his name "just a little bit" from Baby Elijah to just Elijah. :) Good idea Dylan, we will take you up on that suggestion! We had such a great time and are already looking forward to the next visit to SA.
It was a wonderful visit. We can never get enough! Thanks for sharing these pictues. Priceless!
ReplyDeleteOh how fun! This reminds me of when Ian's older cousins called him "Baby Ian". Come to think of it, they still do...haha. I bet at some point Ian will at least want the same name change suggested for Elijah!
