Baby Dedication

On Sunday, November 21st, we had Elijah's "baby dedication" at our church. Gary and Jamie were in town from our Thanksgiving celebration the day before, so they stayed with us that night and them came to Gateway with us on Sunday morning for the dedication. This is a time where we publically declared before our church family that we would raise Elijah up in the ways of the Lord and prayed that he would know and walk with Jesus all the days of his life. As Elijah's parents, we dedicate him to the Lord his maker daily, and took this as an opportunity to do so publically before our church family. We also got prayed for as parents...thank the Lord because we sure need it. :) I also ask daily for God's grace, His wisdom, and His guidence in helping us to be the parents God desires for us to be to this child whom He has richly blessed us with. God is so Good and I thank Him for His abundant love, grace, and mercy.

Above: I think the reason that Elijah was SO quiet during the dedication was because of the huge screens in the background. One of the Executive Pastors, David Smith, was on the stage leading the ceremony. Jamie said she took this picture thinking it would be neat to get him in the background, not realizing that that screens were also in the picture...so, we had not only 1 but 3 shots of Pastor David in this picture. :)

Above: Mamie and Pops gave Elijah a sweet present. You can see that he likes it and knows it's his! That or he is just trying to see if he can grab and fit the whole snow globe in his mouth at once.

Above: "Jesus Loves Me" snow globe. We love it, thank you Pops and Mamie!!

  2. I am so sorry that we missed this, but we had the 50 year anniversary party that we could not miss or we would have been kicked out of the family for sure!
