We spent New Years down in San Antonio with my family. Here are a few overdue pictures from our last trip down to the Big Tortilla, as Ethan likes to call it. :)
Ethan and my dad went to play golf at a par 3 while we were down there... |
...and Eli was none to pleased to find out that he was not invited on the boys outing. |
We made it up to him by letting him play with the little red wagon instead. Just as exciting, I'm sure. :) |
As always, Elijah had a great time with his Nana. |
Great picture of Elijah and Nana! |
During the golf outing with my dad, Ethan got his first hole in one! I will let Ethan tell the story himself in his own post after this one. |
On New Year's Eve. Michael, Jenny, Dylan, Katelyn and soon to arrive Matthew came over to my parents house. We spent the afternoon and evening hanging out and had a great time. Here Elijah is enjoying time with his Aunt Jenny (who is pregnant with his future cousin Matthew) and his cousin Dylan. |
Eli loves his Aunt Jenny! |
We exchanged Christmas presents with Michael and Jenny and the kids. Here Dylan and Katelyn are opening presents. |
Dylan and Katelyn were also so sweet to help Elijah open his present. They were so excited to show him their gift for him! |
Elijah got the neatest musical instrument set. It came with a drum, a xylophone, and little piano. Eli loves it and plays with his new toys all the time! |
It took him a few tries to figure out that he was supposed to bang on the keys, but he got it eventually. :) |
Uncle Michael opening a present. We gave them a diaper caddy, diapers, and wipes. Oh how the presents change once you have kids. :) |
Elijah and Nana ready to ring in the New Year. These hats are a Coben Family tradition. My parents have had them since before we were born and we pull them out and wear them every year. |
"What in the world is that on your head, Dad?" |
This was one of the most fun New Year's Eves! My parents, Michael and Jenny, and me and Ethan sat around and played games most of the night. We played Pictionary, in which Michael and Jenny dominated. However, they had the unfair advantage of being able to read each other's minds. :) After that we played Taboo and the girls trumped the boys...which isn't surprising since this is a game that relies on talking. Here my dad is holding up the buzzer for Taboo and is just waiting for my Mom to slip up. I love the look on my mom's face, too! We laughed a lot and just savored the time being together. We watched the ball drop in New York, celebrated the new year at 11pm, and then went to bed. While some might not consider this too exciting, for us it was as perfect and we had a blast! |
Overall, it was a great trip. We missed having Daniel and Jenny there, who had to go back to Galveston a few days before we got there. We look forward to hopefully catching them when we go back in town after Matthew is born soon! The newest member of the Coben family should be here in early February, if not before. We can't wait to meet you, little buddy...your parents and siblings are great!
