Eli's Walker

Crazy to think that our little baby is no longer a "baby" anymore, but a full fledged toddler. And that he is! On the day that Elijah turned one, I guess he somehow knew that it was time to pull out a few new tricks. In the last week, it seems that the phrase I repeatedly hear coming out of my mouth is "he has never done that before!" Elijah's favorite new activity is to walk across the house with his little push toy. I am attaching a few videos of this below. I am not sure why the last are sideways, but you can watch these lying down if it helps. :) He did this for the first time on Saturday at his birthday party and has rapidly improved in the days since. He has a little trouble turning around when he runs out of "track", but I help him turn around and off he goes. On Saturday, he also waved bye bye for the first time with Mamie and said "uh-oh" after playing with Gloria! His little brain is growing and developing so much and it amazes me to watch him changing so much on a daily basis.

Our little guy is busy, busy, busy, and thoroughly enjoys climbing up and down the stairs, walking with his little push toy, clapping, rolling the ball, playing outside, anything related to the dog, eating finger foods, "helping" mommy with chores (such as pulling the clothes out of the dryer), taking apart and unloading things, developing his own likes, dislikes, and jokes, and loving every moment of playtime he can squeeze in during the day. Believe it or not, my little angel is even napping better...praise God! He is sleeping wonderfully at night (10-12 hours) and will take two naps a day (around 3 hours total). I guess he has to get some good sleep to make up for all of that hard playing he does during his waking hours. :) We have loved (most) every moment of the first year and are so excited about the second. Thank you Jesus, for your mercy, your grace, your abundant provision, and your many blessings. We love you and give you thanks, for you are the giver of every good thing, including Eli. :)

As always, I couldn't resist just a few pictures I hadn't had a chance to upload...

Elijah before his one year doctor's appointment.  He is turning into such a handsome little man!

Helping Mommy unload the dryer.  If only those cloths were dry...

Making a big mess at breakfast with cottage cheese and blueberries.  Yummy!

Can't get enough of that smile.  We love you, little dirt magnet (caption on his shirt).
