August has been a month packed full of fun and adventures so far. Here is a glimpse of what we have been up to lately. We look forward to all of the excitement that August still has in store!
Houston
Eli and I took a little trip down to Houston to visit some of my great friends from college. Believe it or not, my camera battery was dead, but I managed to snag a few pics on my phone. Here are Eli and Avery (my good friend Karrie's little girl) painting...so cultured. Eli and Avery are only 3 weeks apart and we are pretty sure that they will get married one day. ;) |

At the park in H-town (or Spring, technically) |

Ice cream on a sunny day with a beautiful girl...it doesn't get much better than this! |
Back in the Big D
Pondering the great mysteries of life with Garfield. It's always nice to have a good friend who will just listen. |
Strumming away at Fry's
Watching the ants walk up and down the tree in our front yard |
Eli asked why they kept walking on the tree and I told him they were just exercising. I'm not sure he bought it. |
After losing interest in the ants, Eli decided to play an instrument on the bushes. Passing over the obvious choice of drums, he noted that he was going to play the bushes like a guitar. :) |

My silly boy |
At the Park
If we can't make it to the beautiful white sand beaches of Florida or Cancun this year, guess we'll have to settle for the sand volleyball court at the park nearby. What can I say, for a two year old this comes in a close second. |
More sand time with all of his sand toys |
This picture makes me laugh. If you look closely you can see Boomerang hiding in the shadow of the stroller. He is hot and ready to go home! :) |
Mama and Eli at "the beach" |
Our future little Aggie |
Shreveport
After eating almost an entire grilled cheese sandwich of his own, Eli spotted Pop's waffle and instantly became his new best buddy. |
We are pretty sure Eli downed about half of this waffle. :)
"Another round please, waitress..I don't want to see the bottom of this plate!" |

Bass Pro Shops
Eli and Dada at Bass Pro Shops. Since it has been pretty hot lately, we have gone up to Bass Pro a few times to walk around and get out of the house on weekend afternoons for a few hours. So much to explore! |
On the boats |
Eli played on this boat for a long time. He enjoyed bringing us all sorts of pretend food from the various bins. |
Checking out the elk just like he saw on Pop's IPAD |
At one point Eli told the elk that they needed to get back in the IPAD. :) |
Watching the big fish |
"Let me see if I can catch one of them here fish with this handy fishing pole right by the tank..." |

Other Pics

Playing with Madelyn, our neighbor from across the street. He was sitting with her in his tent of course until I got the camera out... |
Educational drumming |
We went to visit baby Creed, our newest nephew, on Saturday. While the big deal was made over seeing the new baby, Eli was much more entertained hanging out with his older cousins- Emory, Asher, and Abram, Mamie and Pops, and Aunt Amber and Uncle Eric. Here is one picture of story time on Pop's lap.
