Birthday Fun with Nana and Papa

For Eli's birthday party weekend, he got a very special birthday present indeed.  Nana and Papa came to visit!  Elijah absolutely loves his Nana and Papa, so having them come in for a few days was one of the best gifts of all.  Not that they came empty handed...their car from SA came loaded up like Santa's sleigh and delivered great joy with it to our little present loving 2 year old. :)  Here is some of our fun birthday moments with Nana and Papa!

Opening presents

"What do you mean the bag is not the present?  Don't you see all of the balls on this thing...this bag is awesome!!"

Photobucket
"I couldn't possibly get anything better than this..."

Photobucket
Eli still looking at the bag! :)

Photobucket
"A guitar shirt!  That is almost as awesome as my new sports bag!"

Photobucket
Eli loves guitars, and thus loves shirts with guitars on them.  He will actually walk around "strumming" the guitar on his shirt all day long. :)

Eli got a precious read along book recorded by Nana and Papa.  This is a great way for them to get to read him stories all the way from San Antonio.

Photobucket
Eli also got this cool bubble machine!  Supposedly it blows 4000 bubbles a minute...it is really fun.

Eli not happy about having to temporarily leave the bubble machine for pictures. :)

"How do we open this thing Papa?"

A Basketball Goal!! Another of Eli's favorites!

And the grand finale of gifts...

Eli's very own piano!! (which he kept calling a xylophone at first)

Photobucket
This piano is fantastic!  It is a real wooden little mini piano. It requires no batteries and is very sturdy.
Elijah loves playing his little piano and he seems to be very musically inclined (or at least drawn to instruments at the moment anyway).  Often when I am washing dishes or cleaning the kitchen, he will go in the other room and just play and sing at his piano.  He will make up songs and sing at the top of his lungs!  I need to get him doing it on video because it is just precious.  At this rate, we are going to have a very athletic musician on our hands. :)

Singing "Eli's song" (aka Elmo's song for all of you Sesame Street watchers out there) before bed

And to seal the perfect day, a little football shooting in the basketball goal. :)
Thanks for the fun visit Nana and Papa and all of the goodies, we love you!
